How to attest an Indian degree in sri lanka

I had to attest my MSC degree from sri lankan foreign affairs ministry. Since my degree was from an Indian university (manipal) I had to go through some hassle like getting required documents. These are the steps you need to take if you need to attest an Indian degree in sri lanka if you did the degree in sri lanka without going to india.

1) Get an letter addressed to the Indian high commission from the institute you did the degree in sri lanka in my case its ICBT saying that they are the authorized training center in sri lanka for that university. get 2 photo copies of the final degree certificate and get the seal of the training institute for stating that the photocopies are true copies.

2) Then got to the Indian high commission and submit the documents to attest by them. They will get a fee of 1400+- something and will keep 1 photocopy for their reference and next day after 4PM you can collect the attested photocopy and you original certificate.

3) Then you can go to the consular section of the foreign affairs ministry and submit the original and the attested document and stay in the long queues and get your certificate attested on same day.
